Aquarists looking for a splash of color in their tanks will find Kubotai Rasboras to be an excellent choice. Most of their bodies are a bright neon green, an unusual color for freshwater creatures. Neon Green Rasboras, Neon Yellow Rasboras, and Green Danios are all names for this species of fish. The contrast between these green fish and the other colorful fish and invertebrates is stunning. They shine brightest in densely aqua-scaped tanks brimming with plants, driftwood, and other ornaments set against a dark substrate. These fish are microscopically tiny, rarely surpassing a quarter of an inch in length. The small size of these rasboras makes them ideal for nano tanks.
As long as the water parameters are stable and the water quality is high, Kubotai Rasboras require little maintenance. These fish, like all rasboras and danios, are completely docile and safe to keep alongside any other species of fish, as well as snails, shrimp, and live plants, provided that all of these other fish are also docile. These fish are small and shy, so community tanks with larger, noisier fish might not be the best fit for them. They are a schooling fish that does best in large groups, so we only sell them in packs of 6 or 12. These fish will act less timidly if there are more of them in the tank. In a well-maintained and densely planted aquarium, these fish are more than likely to spawn, and you may see their offspring. They thrive in tanks with plants, rocks, or driftwood as a source of shelter.
The Kubotai Rasbora is not picky about what it eats. They can be fed fish flakes or pellets, but in order to reproduce healthily, they need a more varied diet (if breeding them is something you are interested in). Frozen or live foods should be a part of their diet (such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, daphnia, and insect larvae). Veggies like lettuce, zucchini, kale, etc. that have been blanched are also acceptable. It's also worth remembering that these fish thrive in tanks with a fair amount of water movement and adequate oxygenation.
